Open the local demo

Start the Rails app and marketing site using the parent workspace setup guide, then choose Open local demo. Sign in with the fictional account printed by the app seed command, or create a local account.

Create the plan

  1. Open Payment plans and choose New plan.
  2. Add a fictional customer and a descriptive plan name.
  3. Set the currency, total, deposit, installment count and start date.
  4. Save the draft and review its schedule and balance.

For example, a $3,000 purchase with a $600 deposit and six $400 installments adds up to $3,000. Calculations use integer minor units. Any rounding remainder belongs in the schedule rather than disappearing from the total.

Review the draft

Check the total, dates and customer before sharing a preview. This scaffold creates a draft. It does not create Stripe charges, collect a deposit, obtain customer consent or start an automatic collection schedule.

Demo payment states use fictional local data. A label such as Paid (demo) is not evidence of a real transaction.
